Bilingual Medical Assistant, Full-Time - Houston, TX
Estimated: $12-16/hour
Medical practice in Houston, TX is hiring a full time certified medical assistant to join their team. Applicant must be a fast learner who loves working as a medical assistant in a fast-paced environment. Bilingual in Spanish is required.
Role and Responsibilities
Medical Assistant is responsible for performing administrative and patient care duties requiring extensive judgement and exceptional patient-focused customer service. Duties include but are not limited to:
- Assist clinician during physical examinations
- Maintain treatment rooms
- Obtain vital signs and other triage-related information
- Document within electronic health records
- Maintain and manage supplies
- Perform clinical duties and documentation related to vaccinations, phlebotomy, lab procedures, and allergy/immunology
- Manage phone messages and return calls/resolve concerns the same day they are received
- Ensure efficient patient navigation
- Schedule patients, manage reminders
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- Bilingual in Spanish required
- Must have and maintain medical assistant certification
- High school diploma
- Knowledge of medical office management systems and procedures
- Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational and planning skills
- Familiarity with electronic medical health care record systems
Preferred Skills
Primary Care experience preferred
Urgent care experience preferred
Pediatric experience preferred
Allergy & immunology experience preferred
